Fr. Romano began pastoral work with 200 Italian families in Rivière-des-Prairies in 1972, founding the CSRDP, now Club Soccer of RDP. His charisma led to the construction of a new church, with groundbreaking in October 1983.
The first mass was held on August 5, 1983, and the church was blessed by Archbishop Paul Gregoire on December 22, 1984. Fr. Romano served as pastor until 2000, fostering a thriving community focused on youth leadership through St. John Bosco's preventive system.
